Photography from Short-term Mission Outreaches

One of my passions has been to photograph people, especially in other cultures. I have been fortunate to have been able to travel to many different countries--I met my wife while both serving on a Youth Encounter International Team, spending a year traveling in the USA, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. I have also been on mission teams to Mexico with YWAM and AIM, Haiti with my home church, and the Dominican Republic, Belize and Trinidad with STEM Int'l.

Last December Northwestern College sent a team to Trinidad, working with Trinidad & Tobago Urban Ministries. The photo to the right is of the team, co-led with Jenni Greener (in front with the striped shirt). Follow the link below the photo to see more pictures--we led four days of VBS, visited shools, orphanages, a nursing home, a homeless shelter, a prison, and participated in numerous worship services at three different churches.

In the 2003 Trinidad Gallery you can see a photo of one of two boys, each rollerblading on a single rollerblade. Not even a complete pair--both are using right skates, yet they whiz around the small courtyard, happy with what they have...

If you have never been on a short-term mission team and are interested in finding out more about this type of ministry, please follow the link to STEM Int'l (Short Term Evangelical Missions) which is partnered with Bethany Fellowship International in Bloomington, Minnesota.
